Meet our Tamale Team

Doug Davidson

President

Doug has spent 30 years in food business running small to medium size companies that have supplied supermarkets and the foodservice industry. He has specialization in running family owned companies over the last 25 years. He started his career with Campbell Soup Co. out of college. He quickly grew within the company and discovered his passion for the food industry. He then went to the Orval Kent Food Co.  for 10 years where he was the head of sales and marketing.  He had key involvement in multiple acquisitions, helping the company grow from 25 to 212 million in sales, as well as the ultimate sale of the company for over 200 million.

He remained with the Kent Family after the sale and ran all of the future food businesses which they acquired, including a seafood company, a bakery business, and produce operation with dramatic growth results in all. He was highly recruited after the Kent Family sold their last food investment and became President of Miss Meringue/Jacques Gourmet, a  high end bakery manufacturer and operator of a chain of retail bakery/cafes in California. Now he is with XLNT Foods, the next family business he has become involved with, helping them to create their growth strategy for the future.

Rachel Vogt

Vice President

Rachel Vogt founded the company with her husband Sean Vogt in 2007 (although the product has been around much longer).  Currently she is our accounting office along with the many other duties that come with running a small family company.  Prior to working in XLNT Foods she enjoyed a career in the restaurant industry.  The jump to food manufacturing has allowed her to pursue a passion for food and work with her husband.  She has a B.A. from Davidson College in N.C.  Also she makes a mean vegetarian chili.
